Chrome and Firefox refuse TIFF outright, and Safari only manages it by asking macOS. This one carries its own decoder, so a scan converts anywhere. HEIC on Safari gets Apple's hardware decoder and finishes quicker still.

Convert iPhone photos to JPG
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. To turn them into JPG (or JPEG — the same format under its longer name), drop them into the converter at the top of this page. On the iPhone itself, open this page in Safari, tap the drop zone, choose Photo Library, pick up to three photos, then save the JPGs to Files or share them straight on.

To stop new photos arriving as HEIC, open Settings › Camera › Formats and choose Most Compatible. The camera then shoots JPG, at the cost of larger files. It does not change photos already in your library.

Convert HEIC to JPG on Windows
Windows opens HEIC photos only after Microsoft's HEIF and HEVC extensions are installed. You don't need them to get a JPG: open this page in your browser, drop the HEIC files into the converter at the top, leave the output on JPG and download. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded.

A Mac can already do this one photo at a time: open the HEIC file in Preview, choose File › Export and pick JPEG. Use the converter on this page when you also work on a Windows PC or a phone and want the same tool everywhere, or when you want location data left out — heic.site does not copy GPS or other EXIF data into the JPG.
