Agreement

By using heic.site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. Where they refer to "we" or "us", that means the operator of heic.site.

What the service does

heic.site converts images between formats. Conversion happens in your browser, on your device. The free tier requires no account and has no conversion limit imposed by us — though your own device's memory and processing power set a practical ceiling on very large batches.

Pro adds PDF output, file sharing with expiring links, and removes ads.

Your files and your rights

You keep all rights to the images you convert. We claim no ownership or licence over them. Because conversion happens locally, we generally never hold them at all.

You are responsible for having the right to use the images you convert or share. Do not use the service for material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that depicts the abuse or exploitation of children.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Use the sharing feature to distribute malware or unlawful material
• Try to break, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure
• Attempt to reach accounts or data that are not yours
• Resell access, or use automation to scrape or overwhelm the service
• Remove or obscure notices, or misrepresent the service as your own

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. Give us an address you actually control — we use it for account and billing messages. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access.

Subscriptions and billing

Pro costs $5 USD per month or $50 USD per year. Prices are in US dollars; if your card is denominated in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

If Pro does not do what you expected, email us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. No form to fill in. Beyond that window we will still consider it if something went wrong on our side. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Shared files

Files you share are deliberately temporary. They are deleted at the expiry you choose — 24, 36, or 72 hours. Treat sharing as a way to hand someone a file now, not as storage or a backup. We are not liable for files lost after expiry, because deleting them is the intended behaviour.

Availability

We aim to keep heic.site running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. If we discontinue a paid feature you are currently paying for, we will refund the unused portion of your subscription.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Image conversion is lossy for some formats, and results depend on your browser and device. Keep your originals — do not treat a conversion as a replacement for the source file.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from your use of heic.site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending access

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms; where a paid subscription is affected and the breach was not deliberate, we will refund the unused portion.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for material changes affecting subscribers we will give notice by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
